How does the loan and repayment process work?

After you apply online, an HFLA staff member will contact you and discuss any next steps. If you're approved for the loan, you'll sign a promissory note (what's that?) and then the money will be sent to you. The process can be as quick as a few days, but may take up to a week.

Repaying the loan is different for everyone. Your individual needs and circumstances are always considered when creating a repayment plan. We strongly suggest you repay via Zelle or by check to avoid incurring credit card fees.
